bradford bingley FAQ
My father died on 19th dec 2008 - what value did his bradford and bingley shares have on this date?
Jan 31, 2009 by sarah o | Posted in Other - Taxes
For probate all my father's assets have to be valued on the date of his death - did his bradford and bingley shares have any value? Or had the government's nationalisation of the bank made them completely worthless?

Would you buy Bradford and Bingley Shares?
Jul 21, 2008 by Rich S | Posted in Investing
I have recently received a nominee allotment letter asking if I wish to buy a further 335 Bradford and Bingley shares for £184.25.
Would you recommend investing in this?
Absolutely not. The fact that they have had to overhaul their Rights Issue plan three times tells you something. They have too much exposure to the Buy-to-let market and nobody looks interested in buying them.

I have stupidly invested my life savings in Bradford and Bingley for one year fixed..
Is the bank really closing down to an end or is the media exaggerating?
thanks in advance for all contributers
Personally I think you'll be fine.
Factually, you are covered up to about 30,000 by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme which is guaranteed by the government (but paid for by other banks, not the taxpayer I hasten to add).

Should i be worried abour Bradford & Bingley being Nationalised? What is Nationalised?

I got a isa with B & B worth £2000. Is this in jeopardy?
ffs...no. Savings up to £35,000 are automatically protected: even if the bank were to go bust and not be able to meet its obligations (which wouldn't be allowed to happen anyway), you'd get your £2K back.

Housing inquiry told 'Bingley is full'
18.05.12
A leading Bradford councillor told a public inquiry “ Bingley is full” and that up to 440 new homes would have a devastating impact on the area’s
already-congested transport network.
Councillor David Heseltine , who is chairman of the Shipley Area Planning Panel which refused permission for a
huge development in Sty Lane, Micklethwaite, said the Aire Valley would bear the brunt of potentially thousands of vehicles if hundreds of new homes were built.
He was giving evidence to a public inquiry at City Hall, Bradford, to hear an appeal by developers Bellway and Redrow, who want to build between 420 and 440 homes on green fields near the
Leeds-Liverpool Canal.
