I don't want to pay for any grant directory or program I am sure this info is available for free but I have no idea where to look?
It is hard to find grants to start a business -- even for women. Unlike the myths that some perpetuate, federal government and even private foundations hardly give grant money for starting a for-profit business.

did you google "gov small grants for women"? after the 700billion is spent I doubt there will be any more grants but good luck..

What is the best website to get info on small business grants for minorites and women? I am looking into opening a small business but I need some financial backing. I have looked through several websites but they always want you to pay for their services.
Go to http://www.grants.gov for a list of government grants and how you can apply for them. However, there are no grants for a for profit business unless you are opening a daycare and then it is a minimal amount. If you need money, you will need to
