That depends on whether you want to be a trader (short-term positions, watching the market a lot) or an investor. The books liste on the websitr are all about trading. Trading can be profitable, but takes a lot of discipline.

Start with Benjamin Graham's Intelligent Investor...a classic work on the Stock Market.
Any title by Gerald Loeb (Battle for Stock Market Profits, etc) all good and classic works on the market.
