For an example say you put your card details on a scam site to buy a product, what details do they need to be able to use your bank account and steal money? Is it more than or different to the usual
They cannot accesss your checking account or bank details if you use a credit card.
Only if you use a debit card can they do this.
Look for the site to have either https or the security lock at the bottom.

I just got a LPC Card in the mail.Is this one of those credit card scams?

An LPC card is a credit card that can only be used at the LPC catalog store.I got one in the mail yesterday but i haven't activated it.It says that i have up to $7,500 limit.This sounds like a scam to me but i could be just be paranoid.Will this card
Did you request the card? Do you know the company?
If the answer to both these questions is no, then cut up the card in many pieces, don't activate it and get rid of it.

Credit cards are the scam.
Credit cards have nearly no security and banks are happy to pay with your money, and then make you prove that you were cheated, rather than make the retailer prove that they are real.

Because people are easily fooled by them in hopes of getting "rich" quick. But really it's those people who are sending out the scams that are getting rich. Eventually, they get busted but some of them don't get busted for decades. Like that

For an up-front fee plus a $19 monthly charge, she said, Losse could get an interest-free "Platinum Trust Card," which the caller compared to an American Express card, and a $10,000 credit limit.
The retired New Jersey corrections officer probably did have that bull's-eye, according to investigators from the Federal Trade Commission. For more than two years, they say, scammers operating from offices in Jenkintown and Philadelphia targeted Losse and thousands of other hard-pressed consumers around the country, many of whom, like Losse, had recently applied online for a short-term "payday" loan.
