How do I find the sale information for the vacant lot next to my house?

There is an empty lot next to my house that is for sale. It is owned by the city or county, not privately owned. How can I find the sale information for this lot? I've already check johnlscott and windermere, etc. and it's not listed with any of the

How do you know it's for sale?

Check with your local assessors office - they should be able to at least tell you who owns it.

i have a vacant lot for sale in jersey city, new jersey. ebay costs $50 to list it, craigslist doesn't seem to cater to big sales like this.

I've seen vacant lots in Washington, DC for sale between $200,000 to $400,000 and higher. How much more would it cost to build a house on a piece of property? $100,000? $200,000?

You can call a contractor and ask how much a house is per square foot. This usually does not include bathrooms or Kitchen upgrades.

So if you want a 2000 square foot house.
And it costs $200 per square foot
then your house

In the city of St. Louis, there is no bigger landowner than the city of St. Louis.

Over the past four decades, the city has accumulated more than 11,000 parcels of real estate that no one else wants, long-empty houses and thousands of vacant lots, big downtown buildings and even a 30-acre cemetery. It sells some parcels every month and accumulates more after five annual tax sales. But most of the land just sits, waiting.

Last week's deal to sell more than 1,200 parcels on the near north side to developer Paul McKee highlights the potential for this "land-banking." McKee, who already owns 800 parcels in the area, will be able to market more and larger sites to potential tenants for his massive NorthSide Regeneration project under the deal. It's progress, says the city.
