mortgage lending career FAQ
I am thinking of going into a career in mortgage lending. Anyone have any pros-cons? Its commission only..?

I was offered a job as a mortgage lender. They seem like the dream job, I get 3% on a loan, so on 100k I get 3k in pocket. I am new to this, so please, if anyone has advice on pros and cons of this career, let me know please!
I have been in the mortgage industry for 10 years. I love it! 3% on every loan. Not going to happen. If you get 3% how much does your company get? Typically you make your fee but then have to split it with the company. I have busted my butt on a loan

What is the best online Mortgage Brokerage Firm or Correspondent Lender to join as a new business career?
Mar 31, 2007 by nikkitruth | Posted in Renting & Real Estate
I plan to start a career as a loan officer and want to do business primarily on the internet, from home, as well as get the training on-line and/or by phone. I'm thinking about joining either Apex Lending or Premier Mortgage. Trancontinental Lending Group
I also work for Aapex mtg that's based in fl. working from home is cool but it's best if you can go into an office and do work there. if you're home you might bs more than if you were in an office, there fore you can get more work done. It's just a suggestion.

I'm going on an interview for a property manager position, what questions should I ask about the job?
Feb 07, 2008 by laura.fredrickson | Posted in Other - Careers & Employment
I am changing careers from mortgage lending to hopfully property management, I have transferable skills that are useful in the property managment field but since I have never applied for this type of job what questions would be appropriate to ask?
How many units will you be responsible for? How many staff ....(maintenance)? Complete job description....(because this varies from Mgt. company to Mgt. company, and from property to property). Ask about training (most pay for accreditation certificate)....other

Democrats win remaining two recall elections
20.08.11
By Chuck Quirmbach, Wisconsin Public Radio
Senators Robert Wirch and James Holperin have survived recall challenges, leaving Democrats one seat short of controlling the state Senate.
Kenosha Sen. Wirch and Northwoods Sen. Holperin had been targeted for leaving Wisconsin during debate over the budget repair bill. But both lawmakers won fairly easy victories in their recall contests.
With nine Senate recall elections now over, Democrats have picked up two seats, leaving the GOP with a one seat margin in the Senate. Sen. Wirch says even though Republicans still easily control the state Assembly and have the governor's office, they need to learn to compromise.
