I have had hell with this company and my car loan. This company bought my loan from Capitol One Auto Finance. With Capitol One I had great credit and had less stress paying my bill with them. Once Wells Fargo bought my loan out from them...I have nearly
No you don't have to tell them why it is late. They are trying to fish for information ... you lost your job, you gamble away your money, etc... See if you can set up automatic payments from a checking account if you have one.

The FDCPA only applies to third-party collectors, not to a finance company collecting on its own debts.

I changed ins. back in nov of 07 my borker sent all the appropriate paperwork to my finance co. (wells fargo) so that was squared off & done with. Well it turned out that when i made my dec. payment wells far. made my payment short by almost $200

Unless YOU sent the paperwork, you don't KNOW it was sent. Your contract DID specifically allow them to purchase

I hear that Wells Fargo is lenient with people who have issues with credit but they would need a cosigner with at least a year worth of credit history. Is that true? Anyone get approved by them? What do they look for in the borrower and/or co-borrower?
as far as i'm concerned, wells fargo is one of the more conservative lenders and tougher to get credit with. probably one of the biggest reasons they haven't been as adversely affected by the credit/housing crisis as other big banks. anyway, expect
